      • Innovators Bootcamp (for those who come up with ideas)
      • Innovators Pitching Competition (to select those who will be supported by the incubator)

    • Partnerships and Networking

      We create partnerships and networks for CAVM students to have opportunities to access a wide range of support from our partners and from our created networks, including:

      • Access to entrepreneurial information
      • Access to coaching and mentorship
      • Access to information about sources of startup financing
      • Access to markets

    • Linkage to Industry

      • We link students with industry for various opportunities
      • In the area of employability, this linkage to industry is in form of academic and professional internships
      • In the area of entrepreneurship enhancement, the linkage to industry serves the purpose of providing the student with the required apprenticeship in areas of gaps based on their idea.

    • Orientation and Career Guidance

      • Each campus has a Career Guidance Office
      • Students who need personalized career orientation, guidance and counselling are encouraged to visit the Career Guidance office at their campus.

    • Incubation Program

      Students who emerge from the bootcamp as potential innovators with viable ideas are supported to turn these ideas into businesses through the incubation program.

      This is a 4-milestone program that enables innovators to practically work on their ideas.

      • Milestone 2: Customer & Value Proposition
      • Milestone 3: Business Model & MVP
      • Milestone 4: Go-to-Market (Marketing Plan & Financial Plan)

    • Coaching & Mentorship

      • Embedded in all both the employability skills and entrepreneurship skills components,coaching and mentorship is central to UR-CAVM’s approach in developing students skills.
      • We connect students with expert coaches who are practitioners in their careers, or in business to come to campus for individual and group coaching and mentorship.
      • Mentors are selected and invited on a regular basis.

Workshops and training courses

In order to be fully prepared for entering the labor market, it is important that you understand and address gaps in your job skills or soft skills. Taking part in the workshops and training offered by the Career Guidance, Entrepreneurship and Employability Unit will develop you into a job-ready graduate. Through the career portal, you can enroll in our 21st century skills office.

Career Counselling

The Career portal provides a space to virtually connect with the Career Guidance and Employability services on campus. You can book free consultation hours using the contact form.

Build your curriculum vitae (CV)

Your CV will not stand out if you did not undertake any extracurricular activities. Therefore you should start building up a good CV during your studies at UR-CAVM. The most useful strategy is to gear your extracurricular activities to the job you are envisaging after your graduation. We help you in building a CV that fits your desired career.

Career events

The Career Guidance, Entrepreneurship and Employability Unit organizes various career events to familiarize yourself with the labor market. Examples include careers fairs, information meetings, workshops and conferences. You can find and register for such events via the Rwanda Career Portal.

Recruitments

The Rwanda Career Portal helps employers to recruit the best talents within the university, by collaborating with the Career unit.

The Rwanda Career Portal provides a platform to connect and exchange with our partner organizations and employing organizations for practical career advice.
